Today has a
mostly cloudy sky, windy and 15 C for the temperature with five meter swells,
with white caps, in the sea. We went for breakfast to the Dining Room,
and sat with three Australians, Harry, Margaret and Joyce and a woman from Nova
Scotia.
After breakfast, we continued to deck 11, another 119
stairs to start walking our 10,000 steps, since there was no activity to attend
until the Captain’s Club reception at 11:30 in the Reflections Lounge on Deck
11. We did notice a distant dark cloud a
small funnel cloud starting to point to the sea, but it did not touch
down. We had lunch in the Dining Room
where we sat with a man from Ireland and a woman from southern England. Our
choices were fried mozzarella sticks and a salad with butter lettuce, for the
appetizer, then either a Cobb Salad or Turkey Medallions on Risotto and to
finish a piece of Maple Pecan pie. Then
at 2 p.m., we went to a wine tasting in the Wine Bar where we sampled wines
from six countries - whites (Chardonnays, Pouilly-Fume, & Sauvignon Blanc)
and reds (Cabernet Sauvignon, Malbec, Polizano, Shiraz & Tempranillo).
During the afternoon, the ship went through a bit of rain, but the swells are a
bit shallower at two meters. The temperature only reached 19, much the same is
predicted for tomorrow. The shops and casino are open all day since we are not
in port. There are features of Turkish
souvenirs including different kinds of packaged Turkish Delight candies.
Dress code for tonight is formal. The photographers are
at different areas on decks 4 & 5 to take passenger photos from 5:30 to 9. The
Nightcaps band was playing listening music rather than dance music before
dinner. Our choices for dinner tonight were chicken liver pate for the appetizer,
then a watermelon & tomato salad or baby spinach & bacon salad,
followed by the entrée choice of beef tenderloin or stuffed Portobello mushroom.
To finish the dessert choices were cheesecake or apple crumble. After dinner, we
danced to the Ocean Band in the Rendez-vous, we watched the production show, iHollywood
with the dancers and singers plus the aerial artists, in the Celebrity Theatre at
9 p.m.
