In five days, we will
depart, for 12 days of sailing from Istanbul, Turkey about two hours before sunset.We will sail north
through the Bosporus Strait into the Black Sea, then turn west to the ports of Burgas,
Bulgaria; Varna, Bulgaria, and Constanta, Romania before sailing east for a day
to the near eastern end of the Black Sea to Trabzon, Turkey. Then we will
journey back west along the northern coast of Turkey to Sinop, next we proceed
back to the Bosporus Strait for a day of sailing through the Sea of Marmara,
past Gallipoli, and into the Dardanelles Strait, then south to arrive in the
Aegean Sea (not far from Troy) and visiting the Greek island of Mykonos. The last three days will be spent visiting
Athens, Greece; Euphesus, Turkey and return north for an evening in Istanbul
before a morning flight home. The time
zone will be about 8 hours ahead of the Central time zone in North America.
